A timer that works whether or not anyone's watching closely

A visible countdown does something a silent break doesn't: it tells viewers exactly how long to expect before things resume, rather than leaving them guessing whether a stream has frozen, ended, or is just on a short break. This is useful well beyond streaming too — a giveaway entry window, a timed challenge, a break during a workshop or class, or a "starting in" screen before an event all benefit from the same thing: a number people can glance at once and then ignore, rather than needing to keep asking how much longer.

Frequently asked questions

What happens when the timer reaches zero?

The display flashes to indicate time's up — there's no sound, since browsers can restrict autoplaying audio, but the large flashing display is designed to be noticeable even from across a room or in a stream overlay.

Can I pause and resume?

Yes — Pause freezes the countdown exactly where it is, and Start picks up from there. Reset clears it back to your set duration.

Can I set a very long countdown, like an hour-long break?

Yes — there's no separate hours field, but the minutes input has no upper limit, so entering 60 minutes gives a full hour-long countdown just as well as a 30-second one.

Can I use this as an OBS overlay?

Yes — "Copy OBS embed link" gives you a link showing just the timer on a transparent background with no page chrome. It stays live: change the duration or colour here later and the same link updates automatically within a few seconds, without needing to copy and re-paste a new one into OBS.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. The timer runs entirely locally in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.
