A subathon works by extending a countdown every time someone subscribes, gifts a sub, or cheers — the harder part than the countdown itself is making sure that actually happens reliably without needing a control page open the whole time, and without double-counting the same contribution twice. This tool listens for those events directly from Twitch in the background, adds time automatically using the rates you set, and keeps a live OBS overlay in sync — while still giving you a manual override for the moments something needs correcting by hand.
Yes — subs, gifts, and cheers are tracked on the server, not in your browser, specifically so the countdown keeps growing even if this control page isn't open. The OBS overlay reads from the same place, so it stays accurate on its own.
A cap limits how much time can ever be showing at once, not the total the subathon can run for overall — so if you're capped at 7 days and currently sitting well under that, contributions keep extending things normally. It's only once the countdown gets close to the cap that further contributions stop adding much (or any) extra time, rather than the whole subathon being cut off abruptly at a hard deadline.
Twitch's own subscription events have a couple of documented quirks where the same contribution can be reported in a way that looks like two separate events — this tool specifically checks for the known patterns and only counts them once. For anything else that needs fixing (a fraudulent sub, a missed contribution, or wanting to end things early), the manual adjustment lets you add or subtract minutes directly.
No — goals are just a progress display based on total time earned from the community, shown to viewers on the overlay as reached or upcoming. They don't add extra time or change the countdown on their own; they're there to give a sense of what's already been achieved and what's coming up next.

Your Twitch connection and Subathon settings are stored on the server so the countdown can keep running and the OBS overlay can stay in sync — that's the one exception to how most tools on this site work, and it's necessary here since the whole point is tracking events even when this page isn't open.
