FAQ

How does a round actually work?

Click "Start Round" and viewers have your chosen number of seconds to vote trick or treat, either on this page or in chat. Whichever side has more votes when time runs out triggers a fun on-screen effect β€” then you start the next round whenever you're ready.

What if a round ends in a tie?

An exact tie means neither side wins that round, so no effect plays β€” the game simply waits for you to start the next one.

How do viewers vote in chat?

Once you're logged in on the Streaming Dashboard, viewers can type "1" or "trick" for trick, "2" or "treat" for treat.

Does chat voting replace the on-site voting, or work alongside it?

Alongside β€” this page's own voting is always on, and Twitch/Kick chat voting are optional extras you can enable on top of it, so viewers already in chat don't need to open a separate tab.

How do I show this in OBS?

Copy the OBS browser source link from your dashboard and add it as a Browser Source in OBS (Sources β†’ Add β†’ Browser) β€” the current round and live vote split (plus the effect when a round ends) will then show directly in your scene.

What are the jump-scare/nice-scare video options?

Turn either on at setup and, instead of just the quick emoji effect, a real video plays when that side wins a round β€” a spooky jump-scare clip for Trick, a lighter "nice-scare" clip for Treat. One is picked at random from the current pool each time, and it's the same one everyone watching (this page, chat, your OBS overlay) sees for that round. Leave both off to keep the original emoji-only effect.
