FAQ

Why does TikTok say "experimental"?

TikTok has no public, official API for reading a Live stream's chat the way Twitch and Kick both do. What's here uses the same unofficial, reverse-engineered method every third-party TikTok chat reader relies on — it can break at any time if TikTok changes something on their end, and there's nowhere on this site's hosting to keep a permanent connection open, so TikTok messages only come through while your dashboard tab or OBS overlay is actually open. If it stops working, Twitch and Kick keep going unaffected — TikTok just silently stops updating rather than showing an error.

Why does TikTok chat say "waiting for a shared slot"?

Reading TikTok Live chat requires going through a third-party signing service, and this site's own connection there is shared across everyone using TikTok chat at once — so if it's busy, a room without its own key may briefly queue for a turn rather than connecting immediately. This never affects Twitch, Kick, or YouTube, and it usually clears within moments as other rooms finish streaming. If you'd rather never wait at all, paste your own free Eulerstream or tik.tools API key into the TikTok setup box — that gives your room its own dedicated connection, independent of everyone else's.

Why does YouTube sometimes take a few minutes to show up?

Unlike TikTok, YouTube uses Google's own official Live Chat API — a real, stable, authorized connection, not a workaround. The only quirk: finding which video is currently live on your channel costs a much bigger share of this site's daily YouTube API quota than reading chat itself does, so that lookup is deliberately only retried every ~15 minutes while nothing's live yet, to avoid burning through the whole day's quota on a room that's just sitting open. If you connect YouTube after you're already live, this doesn't apply — chat should appear within seconds.

Does this replace my regular chat window?

It's meant to sit alongside it — a merged read-only feed, not a place to type replies or moderate from. Keep your regular Twitch/Kick chat windows open for that.

How do I show this in OBS?

Copy the OBS browser source link from your dashboard and add it as a Browser Source in OBS (Sources → Add → Browser) — messages from every connected platform will then appear directly in your scene.

How far back does the feed go?

Only messages sent after you connect each platform — same as every other chat-reading tool on this site, there's no way to fetch chat history from before a connection was made.
